This page contains instructions on how to enter sorties into the Web
Mission Information Reporting System (WMIRS), the database for
missions and sorties. Note that you need WMIRS privileges to be able
to enter WMIRS. See your squadron commander for this if you need
access.
Note that WMIRS was unfortunately not designed to work properly with
browsers other than Internet Explorer. Some pull-down lists won't work
correctly in other browsers.
Using WMIRS
These are the basic tasks you can do in WMIRS:
Logging into WMIRS
- Browse to:
https://ntc.cap.af.mil/login.htm and log in.
- If you get a "Security Alert" asking you about the certificate, accept
it by clicking on "Yes".
- On the lower left, under the title "Quick Links" click on:
- Web Mission Information Reporting System (WMIRS)
- If you get another "Security Alert" asking you about the certificate,
accept it by clicking on "Yes".
Creating a Sortie
Note there are two different sorties depending on whether you're
paying for the flight yourself (unfunded mission), or if it's a
funded mission (paid for by somebody else).
Funded Missions
- Log into WMIRS
- In the middle of Left column, click on "Current mission/sorties"
- Click on the desired mission number to view that mission
- Click on the "Edit/View Air Sortie" button.
- Down at the bottom, click on "Add" to create another sortie.
Now you're in the sortie page. Go to "Adding a Sortie" below.
Unfunded Missions
Now you're in the sortie page. Continue with "Adding a Sortie" below.
Adding a Sortie once you're logged in.
- Leave "Tracking Number" blank (used normally only for synchronizing with
other organizations).
- Choose "Sortie Date" (click on calendar, select day).
- Select any backup date and end date or leave blank.
- On the right, select "Sortie Type"
- Click on "Pilot CAPID", select the pilot for the flight.
- Click on "Tail Number Lookup", select aircraft number.
- Specify type and callsign (if not filled in already, use CPF3080 or whatever).
- Specify "Take Off Airport" like "ABQ"
- Specify "Landing Airport" like "ABQ"
- Specify "Area Assigned" like NM/Albuquerque
- Specify "Estimated Sortie Hours"
- Specify "Est Take Off Time (Z)"
- Select "Objective"
- Click on the "Add Sortie" button at the bottom.
Completing a Sortie
- Log into WMIRS
- In the middle of Left column, click on "Current mission/sorties"
- Click on the desired mission number to view that mission
- Find your sortie number, click on that number.
You'll now be at the form for that sortie.
- Fill in "Actual Sortie Time" with your actual HOBBS time (GA8 is TACH)
- Fill in "Actual Take Off Time (Z)" is your engine start time.
- Fill in Fuel/Oil cost. Use actual receipt cost, or check the ready-room
white-board for the current Aero-club fuel cost.
- As of this writing, fuel is $4/gal and oil is $5/qt.
Do not do anything about maintenance cost, this is done automatically.
- Select the appropriate entry in "Sortie Flown".
- If you did not fly, select appropriate "Reason", otherwise leave it alone.
- Click the "Update" button at the bottom.
Fill out the 104 form for your flight and fax the completed 104 form
to 866-219-9776. The fax does not do well with faxing a 2-sided form,
so it works best if you print out the two sides of your 104 form on
separate pages. You can use the PC in the ready room. Go to F:\xxxx
to find the form.
Normally you should use the charge-card in the aircraft book to buy
fuel, but if you use your own money, mark your name, address, and
phone number on the receipts for which you want reimbursement.
Send the ORIGINAL fuel receipts (both reimburseable and ones
from using the wing charge card) to Corliss at NMWG:

Updating Aircraft Status
The WMIRS database also contains the status of all aircraft. This is how
you update the status.
